Il Paradiso riconquistato. Trame d’oro e colore nella pittura di Michele Giambono is the new exhibition which is due to take place at the Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice from 16 December, 2016 to 17 April, 2017, curated by Paola Marini, Matteo Ceriana and Valeria Poletto. The project, that puts together temporarily 14 pieces, has at its core the work by Michele Giambono (Venice, chronicled from 1420 to 1462), sensitive and refined painter, one of the protagonists of the Venetian late-Gothic period, together with other exemplary works of the years 30th and 40th of the 15th century: it has been conceived to display the results of the restoration - which took more than four years - of the fifteenth-century Pala del Paradiso, which will be presented for the first time in all its regained splendor.
The exhibition is the last appointment in a year full of significant and positive results for the Gallerie dell'Accademia, which registered 312.000 visitors, 10% confronted with 2015 data, and a 25% of the incomings, due to the success of the exhibitions dedicated to Jheronimus Bosch and Aldo Manuzio.
